Quite a bit has been going on as of late in the land of Audi, with both concepts and production models making news almost faster than we can catch up. For our inaugural blog post, we'll get you caught up on two of these news items--the TT Offroad Concept, and a great piece of news involving the all-new A3.
Recently, the Beijing Motor Show was held in China, and Audi brought along its second TT-based concept, the TT Offroad Concept. Like the prototype that preceded it, the new car is a riff off of the performance-centric TT with a penchant for off-roading. But this being Audi, there's a rather interesting twist.
To wit, the TT Offroad boasts a hybrid powertrain building on the brand's "e-tron" technology. And let us tell you, the power numbers and potency are quite tasty. With a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated with two electric motors, the TT Offroad roars to 408 horsepower with a 5.2 second sprint time.
Better yet? It gets 123 MPGe.
The second piece of news revolves around the A3, the uncompromised compact entry level luxury sedan now available at our Charlotte, NC dealership. We've just gotten word that this car has beaten out the finalists to be named World Car of the Year.
