Consumer Reports--one of the most trusted and respected names around Charlotte for online product and technology reviews--recently released their list of which car brands make the best vehicles. And if you could possibly imagine, Audi was sitting quite comfortably in the number one spot.
While the products review site did rank 30 different auto brands, we felt that sharing the top ten alone was adequate. If you're interested in seeing the rest of the list, you can find the full rankings online.

Test models were rated by four main factors:
- On-road performance
- Reliability and durability
- Safety performance/active security aids
- Owner satisfaction
Some brands had displeasing road tests boosted by high scores in reliability; others had a great average road score and decent reliability, but were brought down by low owner satisfaction. Audi was one of just a few brands that scored high in every category.
The Overall Score represents which brands "consistently deliver vehicles that serve consumers well", and was used to rank automakers by who makes absolutely the best cars. The author mentioned that brands with "a lineup of mature, incrementally updated vehicles" scored higher than their less modern counterparts--from that, then, it's no surprise that the Audi brand did so well.
With a stunning lineup of new luxury cars and crossovers, the Audi brand has been leading innovation and technical capability for decades. From its legendary quattro all-wheel-drive system available in many models, to its groundbreaking advancements in luxury sport performance, Audi is consistently dominating top ten lists across the industry.
Recommended 100% by Consumer Reports, and 110% by Audi Northlake.
