Remember Food Network star, Emeril Lagasse? Among his arsenal of catch-phrases, the saying "kick it up a notch" was arguably his weapon of choice. He'd typically drop the line either before or after adding something spicy to a dish. Well, it seems our favorite German automaker has taken a page from Mr. Lagasse's book by "kicking up" the power of its already outrageously speedy supercar, the 2015 Audi R8.
The new engine - known simply as the V10 Plus - is bolder and beefier than ever before. Propelled by this particular 5.2-liter V10, the R8 packs a serious punch, offering 550 ponies and 398 pound-feet of twist. It accelerates in a flash, too, dashing from zero to 60 mph in a scant 3.4 seconds.
